Explore, test, and create at Open Lab, a series of engaging STEAM sessions designed for children and their guardians. These workshops provide a hands-on opportunity to dive into exciting activities such as programming with Scratch, building with LEGO® Education, and experimenting with robotics like Sphero and Kubo.
What to Expect
Each session invites children aged 5 and above to participate in creative and educational activities that spark curiosity and learning. Guardians are encouraged to stay and support their children, ensuring a safe and collaborative environment. Expect a mix of digital and physical STEAM challenges that nurture problem-solving and creativity.
Activity Details
- Dates: Saturdays 7, 14, 21, and 28 March 2026
- Times: Multiple sessions available between 10:00-16:00
- Duration: Each workshop includes 10 minutes for arrival and 10 minutes for pack-up within the hour-long session
- Age: Recommended for children 5 years and older
- Registration is required, with a limit of one registration per day per participant
Location and Access
The sessions are held at Lab.LX STEAM @ Bonnyrigg Library, located at 100 Bonnyrigg Avenue, Bonnyrigg NSW 2177. The library is accessible and welcoming, providing a comfortable space for families to explore STEAM learning together.
Important Information
Guardians of children under 12 must remain on-site during the sessions and be at least 16 years old. The program maintains a respectful environment and reserves the right to remove participants for inappropriate behavior. Photography may occur for promotional purposes; notify staff if you do not consent. Health and safety protocols request that attendees refrain from attending if unwell.
