What to Expect
Immerse yourself in nature and make a real difference by joining the Prince Henry Bushcare volunteer group. This is a fantastic opportunity for families to engage with the local environment and help restore some of the best remaining bushland in Randwick.
You will work alongside Council's dedicated Bushcare Officers, tackling woody weeds, managing invasive vines, and hand weeding to bring the bushland back to its natural beauty. Whether you are a seasoned gardener or new to bushcare, this welcoming group offers a chance to learn and contribute.
The sessions are held monthly, providing a consistent and rewarding way to connect with nature and your community.
Activity Details
- Frequency: Every month on the 2nd Saturday
- Time: 09:00 to 12:00
- Duration: Approximately 3 hours
- Location alternates between two sites: opposite 2 Millard Drive and the corner of Jennifer Street & Harvey Street, Little Bay
Since its inception in 2014, the group has made significant progress in restoring the bushland, making this a meaningful and impactful volunteer experience.
Location and Access
The Prince Henry Bushcare sessions take place in Little Bay, within Randwick City. The meeting location alternates monthly between two accessible sites:
- Opposite 2 Millard Drive
- Corner of Jennifer Street & Harvey Street
Please contact the Bushcare Officer ahead of time to confirm the exact meeting spot for each session. The sites are part of the southernmost bushland remnants in Randwick, offering a beautiful natural setting for your volunteer work.
Important Information
Volunteers should wear sturdy footwear and bring gloves, water, and sun protection. The work involves physical activity such as weeding and clearing vegetation, so suitable clothing is recommended.
Children are welcome to participate under supervision, making this a great family-friendly outdoor activity that combines education and environmental stewardship.
