What to Expect
Immerse yourself in nature and contribute to the preservation of Randwick Environment Park, one of the area's most significant bushland remnants. This volunteer bushcare program offers a hands-on experience in native plant care and weed management, perfect for families who enjoy outdoor activities and environmental stewardship.
You will engage in a variety of tasks including primary weed removal, hand weeding among native plants, and revegetation efforts in degraded areas. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with like-minded community members and learn about local ecology.
Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or new to bushcare, the supportive environment and expert guidance from Council's Bushcare Officers make this a rewarding experience for all ages.
Activity Details
- Frequency: Every month on the 2nd Sunday
- Time: 09:00 to 12:00
- Location: Behind the oval, accessed via the corner of Dooligah Avenue & Burragulung Street
Volunteers are encouraged to wear suitable outdoor clothing and bring water and gloves if possible. The activity is family-friendly and suitable for school-aged children with adult supervision.
Location and Access
Randwick Environment Park is Randwick Council's largest bushland reserve, offering a beautiful natural setting for bush regeneration activities. The meeting point is conveniently accessed behind the oval via the corner of Dooligah Avenue and Burragulung Street.

Important Information
Volunteering requires no prior experience, and all necessary training and tools are provided by the Council's Bushcare Officers. Participants should be prepared for outdoor work and variable weather conditions.
