Engage your child in a delightful and imaginative craft session where they will transform old books into charming bunting decorations. This hands-on workshop encourages creativity while promoting environmental awareness through reuse and recycling.
Children will have the opportunity to bring their own old books or select from a variety provided on the day, making each bunting piece uniquely personal. The event is designed specifically for children aged 5 to 8, ensuring age-appropriate activities and guidance.
Carers are warmly welcomed to join and support their little artists throughout the session. Please note that photos and videos may be taken for promotional purposes; notify staff if you prefer not to be included.
This one-hour workshop runs on 14 April 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00. It is a free event hosted by Five Dock Library, part of the City of Canada Bay Council’s community programs.
The craft focuses on book bunting, a creative way to repurpose old books into decorative art. Children will learn simple techniques to cut, fold, and assemble their bunting, fostering fine motor skills and artistic expression.
The session is strictly for children aged 5 to 8 years; younger or older children will not be admitted to ensure a focused and safe environment.
The workshop takes place at Five Dock Library, located within the City of Canada Bay area in Sydney. The library is accessible by public transport and offers a welcoming community space.
Parents and carers can easily drop off or stay and participate alongside their children. The venue provides a safe and comfortable environment for families.
Maps and directions are available via the City of Canada Bay Council website to assist with planning your visit.
Please bring an old book from home that your child is happy to transform, or choose from the selection available at the library on the day.
Children must be within the 5-8 age range to attend, and carers are encouraged to accompany them.
Photography and videography will be conducted during the event for promotional use; inform staff if you do not consent.
This is a free event, but places may be limited. Booking in advance is recommended to secure your child’s spot.
