What to Expect
Spark your child's creativity with coding in this engaging intermediate workshop designed for kids aged 8 to 12. Building on foundational skills, participants will explore how to use number lines and code to design unique digital art. This session encourages imagination and expression through technology, perfect for budding young coders.
Our experienced facilitator, Jared Berghold, will guide the children step-by-step as they create their own computer-generated artwork. Kids will also have the opportunity to print their creations on postcard-sized photo paper to take home, making the experience tangible and memorable.
This workshop is part two of the Creative Coding series, so it's best suited for children who have completed the introductory session. It’s a fantastic way to deepen their coding skills while having fun with art and technology.
Activity Details
The workshop runs for two hours, from 10:30 to 12:30, on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, at Darling Square Library. The class size is limited to 10 children to ensure personalized attention and a supportive learning environment.
All materials and high-powered laptops are provided, so kids only need to bring their enthusiasm and optionally a USB drive if they want to save their digital files. Basic keyboard skills are recommended but not required, making this accessible for beginners ready to take the next step.
The cost is $10 per child, making it an affordable and enriching school holiday activity that combines creativity with STEM learning.

Important Information
This is an intermediate workshop and strongly recommended for children who have completed Creative Coding 1: Code and Create. It is designed to build on prior knowledge and introduce more advanced concepts in a fun, hands-on way.
