What to Expect
Dive into the world of creative coding where technology meets art. This masterclass encourages young minds to express themselves through digital design, moving beyond traditional coding to create unique, visually stunning artworks. Whether your child is new to programming or looking to enhance their skills, this session offers a fun and inspiring environment.
Guided by an experienced facilitator, participants will learn both beginner and advanced techniques to bring their digital creations to life. By the end of the workshop, each child will have a custom piece of computer-generated artwork to print and proudly take home.
This is a fantastic opportunity for teens to experiment with code in a creative way, blending technology and art in a supportive, hands-on setting.
Activity Details
The workshop runs for two hours, from 15:00 to 17:00 on Wednesday, 15 July 2026. It is designed specifically for young people aged 12 to 16 years and is suitable for beginners through to intermediate coders.
All materials needed to create the artwork will be provided, including access to high-powered laptops. Each participant will receive a postcard-sized print (6” x 4”) of their artwork on photo paper to take home as a keepsake.
The class size is limited to 10 children to ensure personalized attention, and bookings are essential. The cost is $10 per child, with accompanying adults admitted free of charge.

This exciting event takes place at Darling Square Library, located at Levels 1 and 2, The Exchange, 1 Little Pier Street, Haymarket NSW 2000. The Makerspace on level 1 is the venue for this creative coding masterclass.

Important Information
The workshop is led by Jared Berghold, a seasoned creative coder with over 15 years of experience. Jared has contributed to notable projects such as the interactive artwork for Vivid Sydney 2017 and founded the Creative Coding Studio.
Participants should be prepared for an engaging session that combines technology and creativity. No prior coding experience is required, making it perfect for beginners and those with some coding background.
