What to Expect
Step into the wonderful world of Australian native birds right in your own backyard. This engaging workshop invites children aged 8-12 to explore local parks and streets to notice the colourful parrots, artistic bowerbirds, and fancy fairy-wrens that inhabit our urban spaces. With games and interactive storytelling, kids will learn what makes each bird unique and clever.
The session includes a reading from the 2026 CBCA Book of the Year Awards Notable book, "This Bird," followed by a special illustration lesson led by Astred Hicks. Parents and carers are welcome to join and share in the fun.
This is a perfect opportunity for families to connect with nature and nurture a love of wildlife and creativity during the school holidays.
