The Lab Hangout offers a welcoming and relaxed environment for children aged 10 to 14 on the autism spectrum. This introductory session provides a glimpse into an ongoing social and technology-focused program designed especially for autistic youth. It's a unique opportunity for your child to engage with peers who share similar interests in technology and gaming.
Spend a fun afternoon exploring technology, gaming, and interactive activities in a supportive group setting. The event is unstructured, allowing children to hang out, play, and relax with like-minded friends. Carers are required to sign in and stay on-site, ensuring a safe and supervised environment.
This one-off event is held in the Bay Room at Five Dock Library. It is specifically for children aged 10 to 14; those outside this age range cannot attend. Photos and videos may be taken and used in library and Council communications, so please inform staff if you prefer your child not to be filmed or photographed.
The event takes place at Five Dock Library, a welcoming community space easily accessible for families in the City of Canada Bay area. The Bay Room provides a comfortable setting for social and tech activities. Parking and public transport options are available nearby.
Carers must remain on-site for the duration of the session to support their child. The event is free of charge and designed to be inclusive and supportive for autistic children. Please ensure your child is within the specified age range to attend.
This event is free to attend but requires booking due to limited spaces. Secure your child's spot early to avoid disappointment and enjoy a safe, fun-filled afternoon exploring technology and social connection.
