Discover the art of silversmithing in this hands-on beginner workshop led by skilled jewellery artisan Jemica Ostrofski. You'll design and create your own statement ring or a set of stacking rings using a variety of metals including sterling silver, copper, brass, and aluminium. This workshop is perfect for those who want to explore traditional metalsmithing techniques in a supportive and creative environment.
During the workshop, you will learn essential skills such as soldering, texturing, polishing, sawing, drilling, and forming metal. Jemica’s approach combines fashion design inspiration with ethical and environmentally friendly practices, using recycled and repurposed metals. The workshop is suitable for participants aged 16 and over, and all skill levels are welcome.
The workshop takes place at the Queensland Museum Cobb+Co, located at 27 Lindsay St, Toowoomba City QLD 4350. Participants are required to wear closed-in shoes, long sleeves, and long pants for safety. Bringing a water bottle is recommended to stay hydrated throughout the day.
