Song Play is a vibrant early learning music program designed especially for families with young children aged 0 to 5 years. Each week introduces a fresh musical theme that encourages children to explore the foundations of music, movement, and creativity in a fun and engaging environment. Led by early learning specialist Clare Zabrowarny, the sessions blend singing, dancing, musical games, and real instruments to create an immersive experience.
Children will delight in interactive activities that nurture their musical development while parents enjoy quality time with their little ones. The program is thoughtfully structured to cater to different age groups, ensuring age-appropriate engagement and learning.
The Term Two program runs for eight weeks on Wednesdays: April 29, May 6, May 20, May 27, June 3, June 10, June 17, and June 24, 2026. There are two session times to suit different age groups:
- 0 to 2.5 years: 09:15 to 10:00
- 2.5 to 5 years: 10:15 to 11:00
Each term ticket costs $180 and includes a Song Play musical pack to enhance participation and enjoyment. The program is designed to build foundational skills in music and movement, supporting early childhood development in a joyful setting.
Sessions are held at the Melbourne Recital Centre, located at 31 Sturt Street, Southbank, Victoria 3006. The venue is wheelchair accessible and welcomes assistance animals, ensuring inclusivity for all families.

Song Play has been a beloved part of the Melbourne Recital Centre's Kids & Families program since 2017, created specifically by Clare Zabrowarny for this venue. The program respects and acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land, the Kulin nation, and their Elders past and present.
Parents are encouraged to book early as places are limited, and to sign up for updates via the email list to stay informed about future sessions and offerings.
Term Two packages are currently on sale. The cost for the full eight-week term is $180, which includes a special Song Play musical pack to support your child's participation.
