Soundmakrz is a vibrant weekly program designed for young people in Years 7 to 10 who want to explore music in a supportive and friendly setting. Whether your child is a beginner or already plays an instrument, this program offers a chance to build confidence, make new friends, and enjoy the creative process of making music together.
Each session is led by professional musicians who guide participants through rehearsals, helping them develop their skills and express themselves through music. It’s an inclusive space where connection, creativity, and wellbeing are at the heart of every gathering.
This program is perfect for parents looking for a safe, engaging activity that nurtures their child's passion for music while fostering social connections.
The program runs weekly on Tuesdays starting from 2026-03-17, with sessions beginning at 17:30. Participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments if they have one, but all skill levels are welcome.
This is a free program, making it accessible for all families. It’s a partnership initiative between Merri-bek Youth and Fair Music, ensuring professional support and a quality experience.
The focus is on group rehearsals where young people can learn, collaborate, and enjoy the joy of music-making in a relaxed environment.
Sessions are held at Oxygen Youth Space, located at 4 - 8 Gaffney Street, Coburg North. The venue is easily accessible by public transport:
