Experience supportive and informative parenting classes designed to prepare you for the exciting journey ahead. Whether you're expecting your first child or need a refresher, these sessions offer expert guidance from experienced midwives in a welcoming environment.
These classes cover essential topics such as managing labour and birth, including assisted and emergency caesarean births. You will learn about induction, possible complications, newborn characteristics, breastfeeding, safe sleeping, and emotional wellbeing. Classes also provide practical advice on navigating early parenting and community support options.
Choose from a full weekend class or a one-day caesarean-specific class. Weekend classes run Saturday 08:15 to 16:00 and Sunday 08:30 to 15:00, while the caesarean class is a Saturday-only session from 08:15 to 16:00. Booking about 4-6 weeks before your due date is recommended to keep information fresh.
Held at St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba, located at 22-36 Scott St, Toowoomba City QLD 4350. The venue is easily accessible and provides a comfortable setting for learning and discussion.
Each ticket includes attendance for you and a partner or support person. If your birth plan changes to a caesarean, contact the Dorothea Devine Maternity Unit to switch classes. Check with your health insurer about coverage for the class cost.
