The classes cover a range of important topics including managing labour and birth, induction, possible complications, and emergency procedures. There are also sessions dedicated to caesarean birth preparation and early parenting essentials like breastfeeding, safe sleeping, and newborn care. Each class welcomes partners or support persons to attend alongside parents.
Choose from a full weekend labour, birth, and early parenting class held on Saturday and Sunday, or a one-day caesarean birth and early parenting class on Saturday. Classes run from early morning until mid-afternoon, providing comprehensive guidance and practical advice. Booking is recommended 4-6 weeks before your due date to keep the information fresh.
Classes take place at 22-36 Scott St, Toowoomba City QLD 4350, within the Dorothea Devine Maternity Unit at St Vincent's Private Hospital. The venue is accessible and welcoming, providing a comfortable environment for learning and discussion.
Please book only one ticket per family, as this includes your partner or support person's attendance. If your birth plan changes to a caesarean, contact the unit reception to switch classes. Check with your health insurer to see if the cost is covered under your policy.
