Welcome to St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba Parenting Classes, designed to support you through the exciting journey of labour, birth, and early parenting. Whether you're a first-time parent or looking for a refresher, these small group classes provide expert guidance from experienced midwives in a supportive environment.
These classes cover everything you need to prepare for your baby's arrival and your new role as a parent. Expect detailed discussions on labour management, birth options including caesarean sections, and newborn care essentials. The sessions are interactive and tailored to your needs, ensuring you feel confident and informed.
There are two main class options: a full weekend labour, birth, and early parenting class held on Saturday and Sunday, and a one-day caesarean birth and early parenting class on Saturday only. Topics include managing labour, induction, possible complications, newborn characteristics, breastfeeding, safe sleeping, emotional wellbeing, and community support resources.
Classes take place at St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba, located at 22-36 Scott St, Toowoomba City QLD 4350. The hospital is easily accessible with parking available, making it convenient for you and your support person to attend.
We recommend booking your class 4-6 weeks before your due date to keep the information fresh. Each booking includes attendance for you and your partner or support person. If your birth plan changes to a caesarean, please contact the Dorothea Devine Maternity Unit to switch classes. Check with your health insurer about coverage for the class cost.
