These sessions are designed to support first-time parents and those seeking a refresher, offering valuable insights into labour, birth, and early parenting. Whether you are planning a natural birth or a caesarean, there is a class tailored to your needs.
The weekend labour, birth, and early parenting class runs from Saturday 08:15 to 16:00 and Sunday 08:30 to 15:00, covering managing labour, induction, complications, and newborn care. The caesarean birth and early parenting class is a one-day session on Saturday from 08:15 to 16:00, focusing on elective caesarean birth and early parenting essentials.

- Newborn characteristics and routine screening
- Breastfeeding and safe sleeping
- Emotional wellbeing and community support
Classes take place at St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba, located at 22-36 Scott St, Toowoomba City QLD 4350. The hospital is easily accessible and provides a welcoming environment for parents and their support persons.
Booking is recommended approximately 4-6 weeks before your due date to ensure the information is timely and relevant. One ticket covers attendance for both the parent and their partner or support person. If your birth plan changes, contact the Dorothea Devine Maternity Unit to switch classes accordingly.
