Discover essential parenting skills and confidence with St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba's expert-led classes. These sessions are designed to support first-time parents and those needing a refresher, covering labour, birth, and early parenting topics in a welcoming environment.
Our midwives guide you through small group classes tailored to your birth plan. Weekend classes cover labour and birth management, including emergency scenarios, while Saturday-only sessions focus on caesarean birth preparation. You’ll gain practical knowledge on newborn care, breastfeeding, and emotional wellbeing.
Classes include:
- Two-day weekend sessions: Saturday 08:15 to 16:00, Sunday 08:30 to 15:00
- One-day caesarean birth classes: Saturday 08:15 to 16:00
Topics cover labour induction, possible complications, newborn characteristics, safe sleeping, and community support resources. Partners/support persons are welcome to attend with your ticket.
Held at St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba, located at 22-36 Scott St, Toowoomba City QLD 4350, the venue is easily accessible within the city. Parking and public transport options are available nearby, making it convenient for busy parents.
Booking is recommended 4-6 weeks before your due date to ensure information is timely. If your birth plan changes to a caesarean, contact the maternity unit to switch classes. Check with your health insurer to see if the class cost is covered. Only one ticket per family is needed for both parents/support persons.
