Prepare for your parenting journey with expert-led classes designed for first-time parents and those seeking a refresher. These sessions cover everything from labour and birth to early parenting essentials, including breastfeeding and newborn care. Whether planning a vaginal or caesarean birth, you’ll gain confidence and knowledge to support your growing family.
Classes are offered in small groups to ensure personalized attention. Weekend labour, birth, and early parenting classes run Saturday 8:15am to 4:00pm and Sunday 8:30am to 3:00pm. Caesarean birth and early parenting classes are held on Saturdays from 8:15am to 4:00pm. Topics include managing labour, induction, complications, newborn characteristics, safe sleeping, and emotional wellbeing.
Held at St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba, located at 22-36 Scott St, Toowoomba City QLD 4350. The venue is easily accessible and provides a welcoming environment for parents and their support persons. Parking and public transport options are available nearby.
Booking is recommended approximately 4-6 weeks before your due date to keep information fresh. One ticket covers attendance for both the parent and their partner or support person. If your birth plan changes to a caesarean, please contact the maternity unit to switch classes. Check with your health insurer about coverage for the class cost.
