Prepare for your parenting journey with expert-led classes designed for first-time parents and those seeking a refresher. These sessions cover everything from labour and birth to early parenting essentials, including caesarean birth options.
You’ll gain confidence and practical knowledge to navigate the exciting and sometimes challenging early days of parenthood. The classes are intimate, allowing for personalized attention and plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
Whether you’re planning a natural birth or a caesarean, these classes provide comprehensive guidance to help you feel ready and supported.
The weekend labour, birth, and early parenting class runs Saturday 08:15 to 16:00 and Sunday 08:30 to 15:00. The caesarean birth and early parenting class is a one-day session on Saturday from 08:15 to 16:00.
Topics include managing labour and birth, induction, complications, newborn care, breastfeeding, safe sleeping, emotional wellbeing, and community supports. Your partner or support person is welcome to attend with your booking.
Booking is recommended 4-6 weeks before your due date to ensure the information is fresh and relevant.
Classes are held at St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba, located at 22-36 Scott St, Toowoomba City QLD 4350.
The hospital is easily accessible by car and public transport, with parking available on site. The venue provides a comfortable and supportive environment conducive to learning and discussion.
