What to Expect
Experience the calming and restorative art of Tai Chi with expert guidance from Qigong Master Simon Blow. This beginner-friendly class focuses on gentle stretching and mindful movements that promote good posture, coordination, and relaxation. Whether you attend in person or online, you’ll be supported through each session to enhance your physical and emotional wellbeing.
The class incorporates traditional Qigong exercises such as Ba Duan Jin and Taiji Qigong Shibashi, which harmonize the mind, body, and breath. These movements are accessible for all ages and fitness levels, making it a perfect activity for parents seeking a peaceful yet invigorating practice.
Activity Details
Classes run weekly on Mondays from 15 June to 3 August 2026, between 10:00 and 11:00 am. You can choose to attend in person at Lionel Bowen Library in Maroubra or join online via Zoom. In-person attendees will also receive the Zoom link in case they need to switch to online attendance.
The course fee is $18 per term for in-person participants, while online attendance is free. Bookings are essential and open from Monday 18 May at 9:30 am. You only need to register once to attend all sessions, but missing three or more consecutive weeks without notice may forfeit your booking.
Location and Access
The in-person sessions are held at Lionel Bowen Library and Community Centre, located at 669-673 Anzac Parade, Maroubra. The venue is accessible and committed to inclusion, with support available for any access requirements upon request.
Online participants will receive Zoom joining details via email two hours before each session, with a reminder 15 minutes prior. The online sessions are live only and will not be recorded or available for later viewing.
Important Information
Please arrive 10 minutes early for in-person classes to ensure a timely start. Latecomers may not be admitted to maintain the session flow. All attendees must be library members, which is free and can be done online or at any branch.
The event is subject to Covid-19 safety measures and terms and conditions, including ticket non-transferability and cancellation policies. Refunds are available for cancellations made at least one day before the event start date, minus Eventbrite fees.
Your participation may be digitally recorded for promotional purposes; notify staff if you do not consent to image use. The sessions emphasize a respectful and supportive environment for all participants.
