This exciting Teen School Holiday Program offers a variety of engaging and creative workshops designed especially for teens aged 12 to 18. From baking and music making to sports and arts, there’s something to spark every teen’s interest. These free activities provide a fantastic opportunity for young people to learn new skills, meet friends, and have fun during the school holidays.
Each session is thoughtfully planned to encourage creativity, teamwork, and hands-on learning in a welcoming environment. Whether your teen loves crafting, sports, or music, these workshops are the perfect way to keep them active and inspired.
The program runs across multiple locations in Merri-bek, making it convenient for families throughout the area.
The program runs from Monday 29 June 2026 to Friday 10 July 2026, with sessions held mostly in the afternoons from 13:00 to 16:00 or 15:00 for some sports activities. Highlights include Baking Bliss, Music Making, Street Art Walk & Make, Egg Drop & Catapult Competition, Badminton, DIY Lava Lamps & Karaoke, Stain Glass Painting, Cardboard Crafting, Car Maintenance 101, Playful Drawing, Mahjong & Screen Printing, Volleyball & Basketball, and Screen Printing & Pizza with artist Njarala Paton.
Activities are free of charge and suitable for teens aged 12 to 18 years old. Registration is required via the Merri-bek Youth Eventbrite page to secure a spot.
Workshops take place at various accessible venues including Oxygen Youth Space, Glenroy Hub Recording Studio and Makerspace, Artful Dodgers Studio, Counihan Gallery, and Fawkner Community Sports Hall. These locations are spread across Coburg North, Glenroy, and Fawkner, providing options close to home for many families.
Venues are well-serviced by public transport and offer safe, inclusive spaces for teens to explore their interests. Parents can easily drop off and pick up their teens at these community hubs.
Please ensure your teen is registered for the sessions they wish to attend as spots may be limited. All activities are supervised by experienced facilitators who prioritize safety and engagement.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing suitable for the activity and bring any personal items they may need, such as water bottles or sports gear for active sessions.
