Dive into a fun-tastic family show hosted by leading music educator Lachlan Massey. This concert unpacks how music works and how voices blend to create harmony, featuring songs from around the world and hits from The Children’s Opera Project’s live shows.
Children and families will enjoy singing and tapping along to upbeat tunes, performed by outstanding singers including Sophie Blades, a finalist in the 2025 IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition. The show is suitable for all ages and promises an engaging musical experience.
Since 2018, The Children’s Opera Project has delighted audiences with energetic productions in classrooms, school halls, and prestigious venues like the Sydney Opera House.
The event runs for approximately 45 minutes with no interval, making it perfect for younger attention spans. It features a diverse repertoire including songs from 'Pinocchio,' 'Mulga Bill’s Bicycle,' and 'Lennie’s Great Adventure.'
Two performances are available on Saturday, 14 November 2026, at 10:00 and 19:00. All children aged 1 and above require a paid ticket, with infants under 12 months admitted free if seated on a knee.
Tickets are unreserved seating priced at $45, with an $8.95 booking fee per transaction. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore the world of music with your family in a welcoming environment.
The concert takes place in the Utzon Room at the Sydney Opera House, located on the eastern side in front of the Joan Sutherland Theatre. Access is best through the Box Office Foyer or the Covered Concourse.
All foyers at the Opera House are accessible with lifts available to main and western foyers. Public lifts can be accessed from the Lower Concourse and Western Foyer corridors. Pram parking is available outside the theatres in the Western Foyer.
The Opera House is a 7-10 minute walk from Circular Quay and is easily accessible by car, train, ferry, light rail, bus, bike, and on foot.
The event duration is a guide and may be subject to change. Children aged 15 years and under must be accompanied at all times.
Security includes bag scanning under the Monumental Stairs with staff wearing PPE. Cloaking facilities open 60 minutes pre-show; however, traveling lightly is encouraged.
The venue is smoke-free, and refreshments will be available for purchase from theatre bars. Please bring a credit or debit card for contactless payment. Outside food and drinks, except water bottles, are not permitted.
Tickets go on general sale at 9:00 on Friday, 7 August 2026, with pre-sales for Sydney Opera House Insiders and newsletter subscribers earlier in August.
Tickets are $45 for unreserved seating with an $8.95 booking fee per transaction. All children aged 1 and over require a ticket; infants under 12 months may attend free if seated on a knee.
