"The Escapees" invites young participants to embark on an adventurous journey filled with suspense and storytelling, perfect for school-aged children eager to explore the performing arts.
What to Expect
Over three exciting days, children will work closely with a professional artist to develop skills in building suspense, creating compelling characters, and crafting engaging stories. Inspired by real escapees, the workshop culminates in a live performance shared with family and friends. Additionally, participants will enjoy a ticket to the Australian Chamber Orchestra’s production of "The Princess, The Pea (and The Brave Escapee)," blending theatre and classical music for a memorable cultural experience.
Activity Details
The workshop runs from Wednesday to Friday during the school holidays, from 9:30am to 3:30pm daily. An optional aftercare service is available until 5:00pm on Wednesday and Thursday for an additional fee. A one-off booking fee applies to all purchases. Early bird pricing is available until Tuesday, 10th June.
Location and Access
The sessions are held at ATYP, located at Pier 2/3, 13A Hickson Road, Dawes Point, NSW, 2000, on Eora Country. The venue is accessible and situated in a vibrant cultural precinct, making it easy for families to attend and enjoy the surrounding area.
Important Information
Participants should be prepared for a creative and energetic environment suitable for children in Years 3-4. The workshop includes a live performance on the final day at 3:00pm, which families are encouraged to attend. Booking early is recommended to secure a place and take advantage of early bird pricing.
Booking and Prices
The early bird price is $355, ending on 10th June, with the general price set at $380. The price includes the workshop, performance participation, and a ticket to the ACO production. Aftercare is available for an additional $30. Payment options include full payment or deposit with installments.
