What to Expect
The Lab Five Dock offers a welcoming space where young people with autism can build foundational technology skills while enjoying social growth. Each session is participant-driven, allowing young people to explore their interests at their own pace.
This club is designed specifically for young teenagers aged 10 and above, providing a unique blend of hands-on learning and social interaction. Parents are welcome to stay in the library during sessions, with access to workspaces and free WiFi.

Activity Details
Sessions run every Monday afternoon from 15:30 to 17:30 for 9 weeks during the school term, starting from 2 February 2026. The Lab Five Dock requires participants to bring their own device, as no computers or iPads are provided at this location.
The program is unstructured and participant-led, meaning each session is unique and tailored to the interests of those attending. This approach encourages independence and confidence in using technology.
Photography and video may be taken during sessions for promotional purposes; parents can notify staff if they prefer their child not to be recorded.

Important Information
Participants must be aged 10 years or older to join The Lab Five Dock, with those aged 15 and above encouraged to attend The Lab Rhodes instead. Bringing your own device is mandatory as no hardware is provided.
Parents should be aware that photos and videos may be taken during sessions for use in Council and library communications unless they opt out.

The full term of 9 weekly sessions costs $419.40. Registration is required via The Lab website at www.thelab.org.au, where parents can express interest and receive further instructions.
