What to Expect
Immerse yourself in a celebration of young musical talent from across Victoria. Top Class Music and Sound 2026 showcases exceptional soloists and groups who excelled in their VCE and VCE VET Music performance examinations and composition tasks in 2025. This unique event blends concert and masterclass elements, offering a rich variety of classical and contemporary music performed on acoustic and amplified instruments.
Current VCE students and music enthusiasts alike will find inspiration and insight into the artistry and preparation behind these performances. The program features a diverse range of instruments and styles, highlighting the creativity fostered through the VCE curriculum.
Activity Details
The event runs over two days with four sessions:
- Monday 10:00: Classical acoustic solo and group performances
- Monday 14:30: Classical and contemporary acoustic performances
- Tuesday 10:00: Contemporary amplified solo and group performances including original compositions
- Tuesday 14:30: Contemporary amplified solo and group performances including original compositions
Each session lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes without an interval. Tickets are available for single sessions or as a 2-concert package.

The event takes place at Melbourne Recital Centre, located at 31 Sturt Street, Southbank, Victoria 3006. The venue offers wheelchair access and welcomes assistance animals, ensuring a comfortable experience for all attendees. Convenient transport and parking options are available nearby.

Please note ticket limits of six per order online to ensure fair access. A transaction fee between $4 and $8.50 applies for online and phone bookings, with additional delivery fees possible. For larger groups, contact the Box Office directly during business hours.

Booking and Prices
