Discover a unique opportunity to refresh your child's toy collection without spending a dime. This toy swap session encourages families to reuse toys, helping to reduce waste and keep toys out of landfill. It's a fantastic way to engage your children in sustainable practices while having fun.
During the event, each family can bring up to six toys to swap. Toys will be assessed by library staff to ensure they are clean, complete, and safe for swapping. You will receive a token for each accepted toy, which can be exchanged for another toy at the event.
This session is ideal for parents looking to declutter and find new playthings for their children aged 0-12 years. Parents can attend with or without their children, making it a flexible and family-friendly activity.
The toy swap is hosted by Wyndham City Libraries at the Julia Gillard Library in Tarneit. Toys accepted include plastic toys, wooden toys, complete wooden puzzles, sensory toys for babies, unbroken musical instruments, building blocks, and clean plastic dolls and action figures.
Please note that broken items, toys requiring batteries or power, soft toys, books, large items, and play items like sand or playdoh are not accepted. This ensures all swapped toys are safe and ready for new owners.
Library staff will carefully inspect each toy and may decline any that do not meet the criteria. This helps maintain a high standard and enjoyable experience for all participants.
