What to Expect
This engaging event is designed specifically for seniors, carers, and their loved ones who want to better understand Australia's aged-care system. With recent significant updates to aged-care arrangements effective from the end of 2025, this session offers clear, practical guidance to help you make informed decisions with confidence.
You will meet aged-care experts who will simplify the updated system, break down complex processes, and share real-world insights. There will be opportunities to ask questions in an open Q&A session and enjoy a complimentary morning tea.
Participants can also take home useful literature from various organisations and chat one-on-one with representatives from aged-care service providers and support groups to connect directly with the right people for individual needs.
Activity Details
The event covers both in-home care and residential care options, explaining where to start your aged-care journey, how to register for services, what support is available, and how to access it. It is part of the Seniors' Festival 2026 and is completely free to attend.
The session runs for 1.5 hours, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, providing a relaxed yet informative environment tailored to middle-aged parents and carers who want to prepare for their family's future care needs.
This event is one of two identical sessions; the other is held in Katoomba. You can choose the location that suits you best.

The Springwood event takes place at the Blue Mountains Theatre & Community Hub, Meeting Room 1, located at 106-108 Macquarie Road, Springwood. The venue is accessible and centrally located, making it easy for local families to attend.
