Enjoy a lively and engaging family water safety session designed to build confidence and knowledge around water environments. This event is perfect for parents and children to learn vital safety skills while having fun together.
You will explore the risks associated with rivers, lakes, beaches, and pools, and discover how to make safe decisions around open waterways. The session includes both classroom learning and practical in-water activities.
Suitable swimwear is required for both parents and children participating in the water activities. The program is tailored especially for families from refugee, migrant, and multicultural backgrounds, ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment.
This one-hour session covers how to correctly fit and wear lifejackets, practice rescue and survival skills, and understand water safety principles. Children aged 4-12 years are welcome, and one parent, guardian, or carer must attend with each child.
The event combines informative discussions with hands-on practice to reinforce learning and boost confidence in and around water.
This is a free event but requires registration to secure your spot. It’s a wonderful opportunity to equip your family with essential safety skills in a friendly and educational setting.
The session takes place at Dandenong Oasis, located at Heatherton Road and Cleeland Street, Dandenong. The venue is accessible and family-friendly, providing a safe environment for both the classroom and water activities.
Please arrive a few minutes early to allow time for check-in and preparation. Suitable swimwear is essential for participation in the in-water component.
