What to Expect
This empowering program is designed specifically for women from migrant, refugee, and asylum-seeker backgrounds who are interested in starting or growing a small business. Over 10 weeks, participants will gain valuable business skills, build confidence, and connect with mentors and support services. The sessions foster a supportive environment where women can network and explore entrepreneurship opportunities.
Activity Details
The program runs weekly on Thursdays from 10:00 to 14:30, including a lunch break. Each session offers interactive workshops, mentoring, and practical guidance tailored to the needs of women starting or expanding their small businesses. The course covers essential topics such as business planning, marketing, financial management, and accessing local resources.
Location and Access
All sessions take place at the Fawkner Meeting Room, located next to Fawkner Community Hall at 77 Jukes Rd, Fawkner. The venue is accessible by public transport and provides a welcoming space for learning and networking. Parking and local amenities are available nearby, making it convenient for participants.
Important Information
This program is free to attend and is delivered in partnership with Sisterworks. It is tailored to support women from diverse backgrounds and encourages participation in a culturally inclusive environment. Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions to gain the full benefit of the program. Support is available for childcare and transport upon request.
