Discover the fascinating world of worm farming and how it can help you reduce kitchen waste while producing natural fertiliser for your garden. This engaging workshop offers a hands-on demonstration led by experts from the Worm Shed, making it perfect for parents wanting to teach their children about sustainability.
You'll learn how worms convert organic waste into nutrient-rich castings and liquid fertiliser, both excellent for plants. Whether you're new to composting or looking to enhance your eco-friendly practices, this session offers valuable insights.
The workshop is part of the Home Waste Compost Subsidy program, giving you the opportunity to purchase a subsidised worm farm at a discounted price.
The workshop runs for 1.5 hours, from 19:00 to 20:30 on Wednesday, 13 May 2026. It is suitable for families and individuals interested in sustainable living and waste reduction.
Participants are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated during the session. Light refreshments will be provided to keep energy levels up.
If you wish to purchase a subsidised worm farm for $95, please bring proof of address such as a driver's license or utility bill. Non-residents are welcome to attend and learn about worm farming, with information on accessing similar subsidies in neighbouring councils.
The workshop will be held at Coogee Community Hall, located at 19 Arlington Loop, Coogee WA 6166, Australia. The venue is equipped with accessibility features including in-map voice and accessible colour choice to support all attendees.
This community hall offers a welcoming environment ideal for families and individuals to engage in hands-on learning about sustainability.
