Step into a welcoming and relaxed environment designed especially for 15 to 18-year-olds on the autism spectrum. This introductory session offers a glimpse into The Lab, an ongoing program that combines social interaction with technology and gaming. It's a fantastic opportunity for teens to connect with like-minded peers while enjoying interactive and fun activities.
Participants can expect a casual, unstructured hangout where they can explore technology and gaming in a supportive group setting. Carers are required to sign in and stay on-site, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for everyone. This event is tailored specifically for the 15-18 age group, so only those within this range will be admitted.
Photos and videos may be taken during the event to share across the library and Council’s communication channels. Attendees can notify staff if they prefer not to be photographed or filmed.
This one-off event is scheduled for 9 April 2026 from 15:30 to 17:00. It serves as an introductory session to The Lab, designed to give participants a taste of the ongoing social and technology-focused program. The focus is on creating a friendly space where autistic youth can engage with technology and gaming alongside peers.
The session is free of charge, but bookings are encouraged to secure a spot. Carers must accompany participants and remain on-site throughout the event to provide support and supervision.

Please note that this event is strictly for youth aged 15 to 18 on the autism spectrum. Children outside this age range will not be permitted entry. Carers must sign in upon arrival and remain on-site for the entire session.
Photography and video recording will occur during the event for promotional use by the library and Council. If you do not wish for your child to be photographed or filmed, please inform the event staff upon arrival.
