Immerse your child in a delightful blend of storytelling and creative expression with the Art of Reading program at Oatley Library. Designed especially for children aged 5 to 10, this hands-on after school series nurtures literacy skills while inspiring artistic creativity.
Children will engage with popular children's stories, exploring their meanings through mixed media art projects. Each session concludes with a unique piece of artwork that participants can proudly take home. This enriching experience fosters both imagination and a love for reading.
The event runs on Thursday, 17 September 2026, from 16:00 to 17:00. All materials and equipment are provided, ensuring a hassle-free creative session. Parents or guardians must remain in the library for children aged 12 and under, and contact details are required for participants under 16.
Held at Oatley Library, located at 26 Letitia Street, Oatley, this welcoming venue is easily accessible and provides a safe environment for children to learn and create. The library is committed to inclusivity and accessibility, inviting attendees to communicate any support needs.
Spaces are limited, so booking is essential. Late arrivals beyond 10 minutes may lose their spot to standby attendees. Cancellations should be made at least three hours before the event to avoid future booking restrictions. The library does not endorse any products used during the workshop.
This event is free of charge. To secure your child's place, please book in advance. For further details or assistance, contact the library via email or phone. This program is a wonderful opportunity to support early literacy and community connection through creative fun.
