Dive into a fun and interactive after school series designed especially for children aged 5 to 10. This event blends traditional literacy skills with creative expression, encouraging kids to connect with popular children's stories in a hands-on way. Each session inspires children to create unique artwork using mixed materials, making the stories come alive.
Children will leave each session proud of their own artistic creation, fostering both a love of reading and creativity. It's a wonderful opportunity for young minds to engage with literature beyond the page.
This program is perfect for parents looking to enrich their child's literacy journey with an artistic twist, all in a supportive library environment.
The event takes place on Thursday, 13 August 2026, from 16:00 to 17:00. It is free of charge, but places are limited, so booking is essential to secure a spot.
All materials and equipment are provided, so there’s no need to bring anything along. Parents or guardians must remain in the library during the session for children aged 12 and under.
For participants under 16, parent or guardian contact details are required at booking. Arriving more than 10 minutes late may result in losing your place to the standby queue.
The event is held at Penshurst Library, located at 630 Forest Road, Penshurst. The library is a welcoming and accessible space committed to inclusive services.
If you have any accessibility needs or require support, you can contact the library ahead of time via email to ensure your requirements are met.
The library is easy to reach by public transport and offers a safe environment for children to explore literacy and creativity.
Please cancel your registration at least 3 hours before the event if you cannot attend, as spaces are limited and cancellations help others attend.
Repeated failure to notify cancellations may result in refusal of future bookings.
The library does not endorse or promote any products used in the workshop.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay on site during the program for supervision and support.
This is a free event, but booking is essential due to limited spaces. Secure your child’s place by booking early.
