This is a free, in-person event held at the Yarra-me Djila Theatrette within the Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub. Sessions run on multiple dates, allowing flexibility to attend:
- Monday, 15 June 2026, 18:30 to 20:00
- Saturday, 27 June 2026, 13:00 to 14:30
- Saturday, 4 July 2026, 11:00 to 12:30
- Tuesday, 14 July 2026, 18:30 to 20:00
The sessions are interactive, not just presentations, encouraging networking and community building among Banyule-based creatives. Booking is essential as sessions with fewer than five attendees may be cancelled.
The sessions take place at the Yarra-me Djila Theatrette, located at 275 Upper Heidelberg Road, Ivanhoe, 3079. Parking is available at the Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub.
The venue is highly accessible, featuring wheelchair access (except the mezzanine), accessible parking, a drop-off zone, lifts, hearing loop systems, changing places, and hoist-equipped toilets. Public transport options include a 5-minute walk from Ivanhoe Train Station on the Hurstbridge line and bus routes 510, 546, 548, and 549 stopping nearby.
Attendance at one of these information sessions is mandatory for anyone wishing to apply to the Banyule Arts & Culture Program for 2027-2028. If you have attended previously and want to apply again, you can request an application form via email.
The program supports a wide range of creatives and cultural groups living or operating in Banyule. It is not about venue hire but about becoming part of the programming and creative community.
Important dates include application periods from June to July 2026, assessment in August to September, and program finalisation by December 2026.
The sessions are free to attend but require booking through Humanitix. Early booking is recommended to secure your place and avoid cancellations due to low attendance.
For more information or to request an application form, contact the Banyule Arts & Culture Program via email at arts@banyule.vic.gov.au.
This is a fantastic chance for parents and creatives to engage with local arts, support their children's creative interests, or explore new artistic opportunities themselves.
