Discover the rich heritage of Gunditjmara weaving in this hands-on Balitj Woka Weaving Workshop led by Saoirse, a proud Gunditjmara woman. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to connect with culture, story, and community through the art of weaving.
Participants will be guided through the foundational techniques of traditional weaving, learning about the materials used and the cultural significance behind each practice. This is more than a crafting session; it is a chance to slow down, share knowledge, and honor the resilience of Gunditjmara culture in a safe and welcoming environment.
The workshop is designed for those interested in cultural arts and crafts, providing a meaningful experience that combines creativity with cultural education. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of weaving traditions passed down through generations and a handmade piece to cherish.
