Step into a world where nature meets strategy with our board games event at the EcoHub. This is a perfect gathering for board game lovers and nature enthusiasts alike, offering a unique chance to explore biodiversity and conservation themes through engaging gameplay. Whether you're a seasoned player or looking to try something new, there's a game for every level.
Expect a welcoming and eco-friendly environment where you can play solo or join groups to dive into games like Wingspan with its Oceania expansion or the strategic depths of Ark Nova. Free popcorn adds a fun touch to your gaming experience.
While the event is family-friendly, the games are best suited for teens and adults with some board gaming experience, making it a great outing for parents and older kids alike.
This drop-in event runs from 14:00 to 19:00, allowing you to come and go as you please over the five-hour period. The games featured focus on themes of biodiversity, ecosystems, and conservation, including titles such as Aqua, Undergrove, Comet, Wingspan + Oceania Expansion, Endangered, Meadow, Finspan, Ark Nova, Ecosystem, Forest Shuffle, Cascadia, Evolution: New World, and Daybreak.
All participants under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible parent or carer, who are responsible for their safety and well-being throughout the event. The event encourages respectful interaction and care for the environment.
The event takes place indoors at the City of Melville EcoHub, located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop, within Piney Lakes Reserve. Accessible parking is available at the front of the EcoHub, and the venue is mostly sitting with rooms on multiple levels accessible via ramps. Toilets are available on-site.
Public transport is recommended, with a bus stop just a two-minute walk away servicing multiple routes. Directions include taking the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway when heading westbound.
This is a casual, family-friendly social event welcoming all ages, with an emphasis on respect for fellow guests and the environment. Caregivers must supervise children at all times. Guests assume responsibility for their own safety.
The event offers a unique opportunity to engage with nature-themed board games that educate and entertain, perfect for parents looking to share quality time with teens or older children interested in ecology and strategy.
