What to Expect
Celebrate the joy of Children's Book Week with a hands-on, creative experience designed for children aged 5 to 12. This workshop invites young minds to transform everyday recycled materials into unique musical instruments, sparking imagination and environmental awareness.
Under the guidance of craft expert Mary-Helen Daly, children will build their own 'junk' instruments such as box guitars, rattles, and hand percussion using items like rubber bands, bottle caps, string, rice, beads, and toothpicks. The session culminates in a fun group performance with the Junk Orchestra, bringing stories to life through sound.
This is a perfect opportunity for parents seeking an engaging, educational activity that encourages creativity, sustainability, and musical exploration.
