What to Expect
Cook, Create, Connect offers a unique opportunity for children to develop vital life skills in a fun, supportive environment. Designed by paediatric occupational therapists, this program combines cooking with therapy to build confidence, sensory tolerance, and social communication.
Children will engage in hands-on cooking activities that encourage creativity and connection with peers, making learning enjoyable and practical. This program is perfect for parents seeking a meaningful after-school activity that supports their child's development.
Activity Details
The program runs weekly for 11 weeks every Thursday after school at the Warriewood Community Centre. There are two groups: Primary School from 15:30 to 17:00 and High School from 17:15 to 18:45.
Each 90-minute session is led by occupational therapists and includes health-conscious cooking with organic ingredients where possible. Participants receive take-home packs, including personalised aprons and visual recipe cards designed by therapists.
The small group ratio of 1:3 ensures tailored support, and the program culminates in a developmental reflection report and a certificate of participation. A complimentary ticket to a parent information evening is also included.
