Join Ecoburbia for an engaging and practical workshop focused on using nature to enhance your home's comfort and efficiency. You'll learn about solar passive design principles and how trees, shrubs, and climbers can be used strategically to shade your home in summer and allow warmth in during winter. This session is perfect for anyone interested in sustainable living and reducing their environmental footprint.
The workshop offers a range of low-cost and no-cost actions to help you create a cooler garden and lower energy bills. Expect to leave inspired with practical ideas that you can implement immediately.
This event is part of the WA Tree Festival, celebrating the vital role trees play in supporting nature and enhancing communities across Western Australia.
The workshop runs from 10:00 to 12:00 on Saturday, 9 May 2026, and is free to attend. It is suitable for adults aged 16 and over who are interested in sustainability and home energy efficiency. Light refreshments will be provided.
You will explore topics such as choosing the right plants for your garden, where to position them for maximum cooling effect, and how these natural solutions can reduce your reliance on artificial cooling.

The event takes place at Bibra Lake Community Centre, located at 132 Parkway Road, Bibra Lake WA 6163. The venue is equipped with accessible features including accessible toilets, parking (ACROD), and in-map voice and colour accessibility options.
Free parking and public toilets are available on site, along with a water refill station. The community centre is easy to reach and welcoming to all attendees.
