The Day of Doing invites families and community members across the Adelaide Hills to step outside and engage in small, meaningful activities that foster a welcoming, creative, and lively community spirit. This event encourages everyone to contribute to making their local area a better place through collective action and shared experiences.
Participants can look forward to a variety of activations happening throughout the Adelaide Hills Council area. These activities are designed to bring people together, spark creativity, and celebrate community spirit. Whether you enjoy crafts, music, or outdoor activities, there will be something for everyone to enjoy and participate in.
The event takes place on Saturday, 2 May 2026, and is free to attend. Funding of up to $500 is available to support community members who want to bring their project ideas to life as part of the Day of Doing. To participate, individuals or groups simply choose a project idea that helps unite the community and submit an online application by Sunday, 19 April 2026.
Activations will be held at various locations around the Adelaide Hills, making it accessible to residents across the region. The diverse venues provide an opportunity to explore different parts of the Adelaide Hills while engaging in community activities. Details on specific locations will be available closer to the event date.
This event is family-friendly and encourages participation from all ages, especially families with school-aged children. It is a free event supported by the Town Team Movement as part of a pilot project. For questions or more information, Jess de Campo is available via email and can arrange phone or in-person chats to assist with applications or event details.
Attendance is free, but registration to take part in the Day of Doing is required. Applications for project funding and participation close on 19 April 2026. Interested community members should apply online to secure their spot and funding opportunities.
