Step into the wild world of nature right in your neighbourhood with renowned illustrator and environmental communicator Jess Harwood. This engaging cartooning session invites children aged 7 to 11 to explore and draw the natural environment found in streets, parks, and backyards. It’s a unique blend of creativity and nature discovery designed to inspire young minds.
The session is hands-on, combining indoor and outdoor activities to keep the experience dynamic and interactive. All cartooning materials are provided, so children can focus on unleashing their creativity without any hassle.
Parents are encouraged to accompany their children throughout the session, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for the little artists.
This 1 hour and 45 minutes workshop is tailored specifically for children between 7 and 11 years old. The session will be led by Jess Harwood, who brings her expertise as an illustrator and environmental advocate to make learning fun and meaningful.
Participants will learn cartooning techniques while discovering the fascinating flora and fauna around them. The event is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels, whether your child is a budding artist or just curious about nature.
Please ensure children dress appropriately for the weather as part of the session takes place outdoors. Note that parents do not need to book tickets but must stay with their children during the activity.
The event takes place at Annandale Community Nursery, located at 22 Wisdom Street, Annandale, NSW 2038. This welcoming venue offers a perfect setting for connecting with nature and creativity.
The nursery is accessible by car, public transport, bike, or on foot, making it convenient for families in the Inner West area. Parking and transport details can be checked in advance to ensure a smooth arrival.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the entire duration of the session to ensure safety and support.
Photos may be taken during the event for promotional purposes, so please be aware when attending.
All materials for cartooning are supplied, so there is no need to bring anything except weather-appropriate clothing.
Tickets are required for children participating in the workshop and can be booked through Eventbrite. Parents do not need to purchase a ticket.
