Enjoy a welcoming and supportive exercise program designed specifically for older adults in Mitchell Shire. This initiative encourages seniors to engage in gentle physical activity in a friendly outdoor setting, promoting wellbeing and social connection.
Join guided sessions led by trained volunteer Senior Champions who provide encouragement and general advice. The exercises use outdoor fitness equipment tailored for older people, ensuring safety and accessibility. Sessions are relaxed, inclusive, and perfect for seniors looking to stay active.
- Sessions run weekly on Fridays from 10:15 to 11:15 am.
- Locations include Elms Estate Reserve in Kilmore and Chittick Park in Seymour.
- No bookings are required; just come along in suitable exercise clothing and footwear.
- Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
The program takes place outdoors at Elms Estate Reserve, The Elms Boulevard, Kilmore VIC, and Chittick Park, Pollard Street, Seymour VIC. Both locations offer accessible outdoor fitness equipment and pleasant surroundings for exercise.
Sessions will not run in extremely wet, hot, or windy weather to ensure participant safety. Volunteers provide general guidance only; participants with specific health concerns should consult their general practitioner before attending. The program is part of the Enjoy Impact Research Project in partnership with the National Ageing Research Institute.
This is a free program open to all older residents of Mitchell Shire. No prior registration or booking is necessary, making it easy to drop in and participate at your convenience.
