What to Expect
Begin your day with a peaceful sunrise meditation on the beach, followed by a mobility-focused yoga flow infused with breathwork. Each session is unique, inspired by the seasons, elements, and moon cycles, ensuring a fresh and engaging experience every week. After moving your body and calming your mind, enjoy a refreshing swim in the water to invigorate your senses.
This event is designed to nurture mental health and wellbeing, fostering community connection and natural mood-boosting through movement and breath. It’s suitable for all levels, with guided meditation and breathwork to support beginners.
Activity Details
- Arrive by 6:15am to settle in and leave your belongings inside.
- 6:30am starts with silent meditation on the beach.
- 6:40am transitions indoors for a mobility flow yoga session with breathwork.
- 7:20am enjoy a dip in the water.
- 7:30am wrap up and head across the road for coffee and community chats.
No prior experience is necessary, and you only need to bring a yoga mat, towel, swimmers, water bottle, and comfortable layered gym clothes. The session lasts about one hour.
Location and Access
Held at the South Melbourne Life Saving Club, located at 72B Beaconsfield Parade, Albert Park, VIC 3206. The venue offers a stunning beachside setting perfect for sunrise activities. It is accessible by driving, public transport, biking, or walking.
The club provides a welcoming community atmosphere, making it easy to connect with others and enjoy the natural surroundings while improving your wellbeing.
Important Information
This event was created in response to mental health challenges during the pandemic, focusing on natural healing through community, breathwork, and movement. It supports mental health by increasing oxytocin, serotonin, endorphins, and dopamine.
The sessions are donation-based with a suggested minimum of $15 to support sustainability and give back to the South Melbourne Life Saving Volunteers. Hardship attendees can access the classes as a gift by reaching out.
Your facilitator, Eliza Hilmer (@eliza.with.love), brings over six years of experience and a unique blend of yoga styles, breathwork, and mobility training to guide you gently and effectively.
Booking and Prices
The sessions run weekly every Thursday at sunrise. Tickets are donation-based, with a suggested minimum donation of $15, but contributions between $10 and $30 are welcome. This honesty model makes wellness accessible to all.
