Immerse yourself in the calming art of Kurinuki pottery, a traditional Japanese technique that involves hollowing out a solid block of clay to create unique, organic vessels. This beginner-friendly class invites you to slow down, connect with your creativity, and craft meaningful pieces with your own hands.
In this intimate class with a maximum of 8 students, you'll be guided step-by-step by an experienced instructor. Expect live demonstrations and plenty of one-on-one support as you carve and shape up to two functional vessels such as cups or small bowls. The process encourages intuition and imperfection, allowing the clay to guide your creative journey.
The session runs for two hours, from 14:30 to 16:30 on Sunday, 2026-05-10. You'll start with a solid block of clay and gradually carve it away to reveal your unique pottery pieces. After the class, your creations will be dried, fired, and glazed using studio glazes, ready for you to collect later.
The class is held at Glaze Galleria, located at 110 Lyons Rd, Drummoyne NSW 2047. The venue is accessible by public transport and offers a welcoming studio environment designed to inspire creativity and relaxation.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and encourages a spontaneous, intuitive approach to pottery. Spaces are limited to 8 participants to ensure personalized guidance. Please wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting a little messy.
The cost for the class is $100 per adult. Booking is essential due to limited spots. Visit the Glaze Galleria website for more details and to secure your place in this unique pottery experience.
