This engaging 2-hour workshop welcomes community members eager to develop their LGBTIQA+ allyship skills. No prior knowledge is needed, just an open mind and willingness to listen, reflect, and learn.
You will gain practical tools and confidence to create inclusive spaces where everyone feels seen and supported. The session includes interactive activities and real-life scenarios to deepen understanding.
The program begins with arrival and welcome from 12:45 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by the workshop from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Afterward, Banyule Council’s LGBTIQA+ Champions host refreshments and conversations until 4:00 PM.
Topics covered include moving from awareness to action, embedding inclusion in workplaces, navigating difficult conversations, and identifying systemic barriers faced by LGBTIQA+ people.
The workshop is held at Rosanna Library, 72 Turnham Avenue, Rosanna 3084. Rosanna Station on the Hurstbridge line is a short walk away. Bus routes 513, 514, and 517 stop directly outside the library.
Parking is available in the shared Woolworths and library carpark with both rear and underground options. Bicycle rails are provided at the front of the building for cyclists.
Registration is essential as places are limited. Participants are expected to maintain respectful, safe, and inclusive behavior throughout the event.
Photography and filming will occur. Special dietary requirements must be communicated by Friday 1 May 2026. The venue is fully accessible with lift access, accessible parking, bathrooms, and infrared hearing assistance available upon request.
A low sensory space and support staff are available to ensure all participants can comfortably engage.
This event is free to attend but requires booking via TryBooking. Early registration is recommended due to limited spots.
