Experience the rewarding opportunity to contribute to your local environment by joining the Ladies Pool Bushcare group. This women-only volunteer program focuses on both aesthetic gardening and bush regeneration, making a real impact on the natural beauty of Coogee’s iconic Ladies’ Pool area.
You will work alongside council Bushcare officers and fellow volunteers to weed, replant, and stabilize steep slopes, helping to preserve and enhance the surrounding bushland. It’s a wonderful way to connect with nature, meet like-minded women, and enjoy the outdoors.
Whether you are a seasoned gardener or new to bushcare, this group welcomes all skill levels and provides a supportive environment to learn and contribute.
The group meets monthly on the third Thursday, providing a consistent and manageable commitment for busy parents. During daylight savings, the meeting time adjusts to 8am to 11am to make the most of the daylight hours.
Activities include:
- Weeding invasive plants
- Replanting native species
- Stabilizing slopes to prevent erosion
- Maintaining the manicured grounds of the Ladies’ Baths
Volunteers should come prepared with suitable clothing, gloves, and water to stay comfortable while working outdoors.
Meet at McIvers Ladies’ Pool, Coogee, a beautiful coastal location easily accessible by public transport or car. The site offers a scenic backdrop for your volunteer work, with ocean views and natural bushland.

Please note this is a women-only group, fostering a comfortable and supportive environment for female volunteers. The group operates under the guidance of Randwick City Council Bushcare officers who provide training and support.
Daylight savings affect meeting times, shifting the start to 8am and finishing at 11am during those months. Outside daylight savings, the group meets from 9am to 12pm.
Volunteers are encouraged to book ahead by contacting the Bushcare Officer to ensure a smooth and organized session.
