What to Expect
Discover the exciting world of LEGO Spike Prime, where colourful components meet coding to spark creativity and learning. This program is designed for children aged 8-12 who are eager to explore technology through playful building and programming.
Participants can follow structured lessons or choose to create their own prototypes, encouraging both guided learning and imaginative experimentation. Each session is crafted to be engaging and accessible, making STEM concepts fun and approachable for young minds.
The workshops run weekly on Thursdays throughout March, offering two time slots to suit your schedule: 4-5pm and 5-6pm.
Activity Details
The program includes a 10-minute arrival and 10-minute pack-up time within each one-hour session, ensuring a smooth start and finish. Guardians of children under 12 are required to stay on-site during the sessions, providing a safe and supportive environment.
Workshops are free but require registration through Eventbrite, with a limit of one registration per day for multi-session programs. Library membership is recommended and free to join, enhancing access to resources and future events.
Please note that sessions may be rescheduled or cancelled due to low enrolment or unforeseen circumstances, with updates communicated via email.
Location and Access
All sessions take place at Lab.LX STEAM, located within Bonnyrigg Library at 100 Bonnyrigg Avenue, Bonnyrigg NSW 2177. The venue is accessible and welcoming, providing a dedicated space for STEAM learning.
Bonnyrigg Library offers ample parking and public transport options nearby, making it convenient for families to attend. The library environment supports a positive learning atmosphere with staff available for assistance.
Important Information
Guardians must be at least 16 years old and remain on the premises throughout the program. The facilitators maintain a respectful and positive environment; inappropriate behaviour may result in removal from the program.
Photography may occur during sessions for promotional use; please notify staff if you do not consent to your or your child's image being captured.
For health and safety, attendees should not participate if experiencing illness or COVID-19 symptoms. Cancellation notifications help keep spots available for others.
Booking and Prices
This program is free of charge, funded by Fairfield City Council. Registration is essential and managed via Eventbrite to secure your child’s place.
Only one registration per day is allowed for multi-session programs to ensure fair access. Library membership is encouraged for all participants and can be obtained online or at the library.
