Let’s Get Physical (Theatre) - Years 5-6

Discover the exciting world of storytelling through movement in this engaging theatre workshop designed specifically for Years 5-6 students. This school holiday program encourages children to explore how their bodies can express stories beyond words, creating a unique theatrical experience.

What to Expect

Over three days, students will collaborate with a professional artist to devise an original piece of theatre. The focus will be on using shapes, flow, repetition, and ensemble movement to bring stories to life. This is not a dance class but a creative exploration of physical storytelling.

Participants will stretch both their imaginations and physical abilities, culminating in a performance for family and friends on the final day. It’s a fantastic opportunity for young people to build confidence, teamwork skills, and creativity.

Activity Details

The workshop runs from Monday to Wednesday during the school holidays, with daily sessions from 9:30am to 3:30pm. Aftercare is available until 5:00pm on Monday and Tuesday for an additional fee.

The performance will take place at 3:00pm on the last day, giving families a chance to see the creative results of the workshop. Early bird pricing is available until June 10th.

Location and Access

The workshop is held at ATYP, located at Pier 2/3, 13A Hickson Road, Dawes Point, NSW, 2000, on Eora Country. The venue is accessible and well-equipped to support a creative and safe environment for children.

Families are encouraged to plan their arrival and departure times around the workshop schedule, and aftercare options provide flexibility for busy parents.

A one-off booking fee applies to all purchases. Early bird pricing offers a discount if booked before the deadline.

Parents should ensure children bring comfortable clothing suitable for movement and a packed lunch. The workshop is designed to be inclusive and supportive for all participants.

Booking and Prices

The early bird price is $325, valid until June 10th. After this date, the general price is $350. Aftercare until 5:00pm on Monday and Tuesday is available for an additional $30.

Payment options include full payment or a deposit plus five installments, making it easier for families to manage the cost. Bookings can be made online through the ATYP website.
