We're excited to offer Mornington Peninsula Shire residents a fantastic opportunity to dispose of green waste at no cost during the 'No Charge' Green Waste Weekend. This event is designed to help you manage your garden waste responsibly and conveniently, while supporting local environmental efforts.
During this popular event, residents can bring all types of garden waste and untreated timber from residential vehicles and trailers. Expect some queues, especially in the mornings and late afternoons, as many locals take advantage of this free service. Please bring proof of residency such as a driver's license or rates notice to access the service.

- Limit: Up to three cubic metres of green waste per trip
- Note: Commercial green waste will not be accepted
The event is held at the Rye Resource Recovery Centre, located at 280 Truemans Road, Fingal. The centre is easily accessible and open during the event hours. Please note that to ensure timely closing, customers may be prevented from joining queues after 3:30 PM on weekends and public holidays, and after 2:30 PM on weekdays.
This event is exclusively for Shire residents or ratepayers, and green waste must be delivered from residential vehicles or trailers only. If you regularly dispose of green waste, consider opting in for a 240-litre fortnightly green and food waste bin collection service available to urban area residents.
