What to Expect
Experience the joy of contributing to your local environment by planting indigenous native seedlings along Mullum Mullum Creek. This event is perfect for families and community members who want to support the insect, bird, and wildlife habitats while enjoying the outdoors.
You will be working alongside passionate volunteers and council representatives to improve the natural environment that benefits everyone using the creek trails. It’s a hands-on activity that offers a rewarding way to connect with nature and your community.
Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a first-timer, this planting event welcomes all skill levels and ages, making it a wonderful opportunity for parents and children to learn and grow together.
Activity Details
The planting session will take place on Saturday, 13 June 2026, from 09:30 to 11:30. Volunteers will be planting seedlings at the bottom of the creek access track at 50A Jeffery Drive, Ringwood.
Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring gardening gloves if you have them (limited gloves are available on site). It’s also recommended to bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and drinking water to stay comfortable throughout the morning.
Tools will be provided, but if you prefer, bring your own small digging tool. For families with younger children, please bring suitable tools as the equipment is designed for teens and adults.
Location and Access
The planting site is located at 50A Jeffery Drive, Ringwood 3135. To find the site, follow the creek access track down to the bottom, turn left, and walk towards Oban Road. The planting area will be on the right, marked with Volunteer signs.
This location is accessible via local roads and offers a beautiful natural setting for the activity. Parking is available nearby, and the area is well-suited for a morning of outdoor community engagement.
Important Information
Volunteers are encouraged to bring something to share for morning tea, although this is entirely optional. After the planting, enjoy a friendly chat over provided cups, tea, coffee, hot water, drinking chocolate, and milk.
Please ensure children are supervised and equipped with appropriate tools and protective gear. The event is family-friendly but requires some physical activity, so dress accordingly.
This is a free community event focused on environmental sustainability and local wildlife support, so your participation helps make a meaningful difference.
