MyTime offers a warm and supportive environment designed especially for parents and carers of children with disabilities, developmental delays, or neurodivergence. This is your time away from therapy appointments to focus on your own wellbeing while connecting with others who truly understand your journey.
During MyTime sessions, you can enjoy relaxed conversations over tea or coffee, share your experiences, and learn from guest speakers on topics that matter to you. Activities include calming or fun wellbeing exercises, and there is always space to discuss what’s important for your family.
Sessions run throughout the year, with 5 sessions per term, each lasting 2 hours. They take place on Wednesdays from 11:00 to 13:00. Some childminding is available for preschool-aged children if booked in advance. Online participation options are also offered for those unable to attend in person.
The sessions are held at Plumtree in Marrickville, NSW. For families not based in Sydney or those preferring to join remotely, online attendance is available by selecting the online option during registration. The venue is accessible and welcoming to all families.
MyTime is facilitated by parent-peer workers who have lived experience, ensuring a genuine understanding of your challenges and triumphs. Topics vary each term and include family advocacy, wellbeing, community support, emotional regulation, and friendship support. The sessions are designed to be flexible and responsive to the needs of attendees.
